Some explanation,

Puerperium,

The period of about six weeks after childbirth during which the mother’s reproductive organs return to their original non-pregnant condition.

What is the normal puerperium?

The puerperium, or postpartum period, generally lasts 6 weeks and is the period of adjustment after delivery when the anatomic and physiologic changes of pregnancy are reversed, and the body returns to the normal, nonpregnant state.

What are the stages of puerperium?

The postpartum period can be divided into five distinct stages; the initial or acute phase, 8–19 hours after childbirth; subacute postpartum period, which lasts two to six weeks, and the delayed postpartum period, which can last up to eight months.

Oophoritis,

This is an ascending infection of the ovaries that is a major cause of female infectious morbidity, ectopic pregnancy, and sterilization.

What is the cause of oophoritis?

Oophoritis is usually the result of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) like chlamydia and gonorrhea. You can reduce your risk by practicing safe sex with all partners. Bacteria can also get into the reproductive tract through your cervix.

Is oophoritis is an inflammation of an ovary?

Ovaritis generally refers to inflammation of the ovaries, and oophoritis refers to inflammation of the substance of the ovaries, the oocytes in particular.

Third trimester ,

The third trimester begins around week 28 of pregnancy and lasts until you give birth, which may be around week 40 of pregnancy. In other words, your third trimester lasts from around week 28 to week 40, or months 7 to 9 of pregnancy.

Why is the third trimester so painful?

Increased levels of progesterone during pregnancy relax the joints and muscles to accommodate the growing uterus and enhance flexibility in your pelvis so the baby can pass through the birth canal more easily. However, this also can cause pain.

First trimester,

The first trimester is the earliest phase of pregnancy. It starts on the first day of your last period – before you’re even actually pregnant – and lasts until the end of the 13th week. It’s a time of great anticipation and of rapid changes for both you and your baby.

How long is the first trimester of pregnancy?

A pregnancy is divided into trimesters: the first trimester is from week 1 to the end of week 12. the second trimester is from week 13 to the end of week 26. the third trimester is from week 27 to the end of the pregnancy.

Thanks!!
