Quickning sign:- (18 weeks)

it is the first perceptible fetal movement felt by the pregnant mother, occurs about 18 – 20 weeks after the last menstrual period in a Primigravida, but may occur as early as 16 weeks. in a multigravita quickening is the fluttering sensation is the abdomen that gradually increase in intensity and frequency.

Goodell’s sign:- (6 weeks).

softening of the cervix a sign of pregnancy, a positive goodell’s sign occurs due to increase blood flow notice in the cervix during the first 4 – 8 weeks of pregnancy.

Chadwick sign:- (jacquemier’s sign).(8 weeks

A dark blue to purplish red congested appearance of vaginal mucosa and indication of pregnancy. It occurs when blood flow to the service and vagina increase around the 4-8 weeks of pregnancy causing those tissues to become purplish red.

Heger’s sign:-

Hegar’s sign is a non-specific indication of pregnancy characterized by the compressibility and softening of the cervical isthmus, the Heger sign usually presents during the 4th 6 weeks of pregnancy and may be present until the 12th weeks of pregnancy.

Braxton hick’s sign:- (6-10 weeks)

Light, usually Painless irregular contractions during pregnancy, they are contraction of your uterus in preparation for giving birth. They tone the muscles in your uterus and may also help prepare the cervix for birth.

Palmer’s sign:- (5-8 weeks)

Palmer’s sign uterine contractions felt during bimanual examination. heger’s sign during bimanual examination, the two fingers in the anteriors fornix can be approximated to fingers of the abdominal hand behind the uterus due to softening of the lower part of the uterus and its emptiness.

Ballottement sign:-(start from 2th trimester)

Ballottement is when the lower uterine segment or the cervix is tapped by the examiner’s finger and left there, the foetus floats upward, then sinks back and a gentle tap is felt on the finger.

Osiander sign:- (8 weeks).

It is feeling of pulsation in lateral fornix. Fornix is a cleft develop by cervix into the vagina.
