Thyroid Gland & Produces Harmones
The thyroid is a butterfly shaped gland that is located low on the in front of the neck. It plays a major role in the metabolism of growth and development of the human body. It regulates the body metabolic rate controlling heart muscle and digestive function brain development and bone maintenance etc. Thyroid gland produces three main hormones: thyroid gland produces thyroxine hormone, also known as T4. Triiodothyronine also known as T3 harmone and calcitonin hormone that is produced by the thyroid gland to maintain the blood calcium level.
The thyroid is an endocrine gland located at the base of the neck that is small and shape as butterfly but has a variety of function as metabolism growth and development of the human body, muscles and digestive function and brand development.
Thyroid gland harmones:
Thyroid gland secretes the three main harmones: the two thyroid hormones- triiodothyronine (T3) & thyroxine (T4), and a peptide harmone, calcitonin. The thyroid harmone influence the metabolic rate, and in children, brain development. Iodine deficiency is the leading causes of preventable intellectual disability in children.
Thyroid Disorders:
Your thyroid produces thyroid hormone, which control many activities in your body including how fast you burn calories or energy and how fast your heart beats. Diseases of the thyroid causes it to make either too much or too little of the hormone. Thyroid disorders include hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism thyroid inflammation, thyroid cancer, thyroid enlargement (goitre). Hyperthyroidism is characterized by excessive secretion of thyroid hormones: the most common causes is the autoimmune disorder Grave’s disease. Grave’s disease is the most common causes of hyperthyroidism affecting about 70% of the people with an overactive thyroid gland. In hyperthyroidism condition, the thyroid gland is overactive. It produces too much hormones.
Grave’s Disease://Hyperthyroidism
Grave’s disease is also known as “Basedow’s Disease”. Grave’s disease is the most common causes of hyperthyroidism affecting about 70% of the people with an overactive thyroid gland. In hyperthyroidism condition, the thyroid gland is overactive. It produces too much hormones. Grave’s disease is more common in the women under the age of 40.
Hashimoto’s disease//Hypothyroidism:
Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone. The most common thyroid disorder is hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland is underperforming or producing too little thyroid hormone. Hashimoto’s disease is caused by hypothyroidism.
The symptoms of thyroid problems in females are seen- weight gain, dry skin, fatigue, muscles weakness, increased sensitivity to cold.
The Common symptoms of Thyroid:
Weight gain and weight loss, fatigue, slow heart rate, increased heart rate, sensitivity heat, sensitive to cold.
